For the last 20 years Christy Tagatac has been a staple in the beauty industry. Starting her career working with top producing beauty brands as a makeup artist, in management, and training is where she found she thrives as part of a team and community. She then expanded her reach within the beauty community by getting her cosmetology license. Her experience includes bridal, salon ownership, hair and makeup publication, hair and makeup department head, agency representation, and small business owner. Publications include Vogue Italia, Scorpio Gin, Maven, XIOX Magazine, and more. She thrives in the high energy environments of backstage for fashion week, red carpet, press junkets, TV, film, editorial campaigns. Christy has served as a Creative Director to grow education and business for a makeup company. She has created and developed makeup curriculums and training programs that cover artistry, business, and infection control. Christy's background and experience made these highly effective in cosmetology schools, salons, and other beauty programs around the world.
The Covid-19 pandemic led to the birth of Christy’s next foray in the beauty industry. As she compiled information from research, industry professionals, and certifications in infection control, it planted the seed for the CreateSafely movement. CreateSafely is an exciting platform that brings artists and creatives together to share knowledge, new techniques and learn from each other. It highlights sanitation information, kit upgrades, guidelines, and other resources to navigate safe practices. Other successes include the development of the 3-Step technique to best practices, the PoKitBook, global events and meetings, and the unification of artists around the world. The CreateSafely social media platforms and resources continue to grow on a daily basis.
Christy has been completely dedicated to supporting our community along with artistry and education to develop our industries. She truly lives by “always leading with love”, and “education through community”.
